Each year, we offer opportunities to students from a diverse range of Engineering disciplines, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Material Science, Manufacturing Process, DSP and Software Engineering.
Summer Student Program
Our Summer Student Program will provide you with an exciting opportunity to experience life with an ASX100 company. This 3 month program is designed to give you a snapshot of Cochlear and can provide a natural progression into the Graduate Program. It will give you a practice run of taking the step from university to the real world of work, giving you an opportunity to put into practice your academic learning. This is a unique opportunity to see our business first hand and work alongside world leading experts. Summer students are immediately engaged in real engineering projects and real work.
In return for your energy, skills and enthusiasm we will give you an action packed experience with an opportunity to stretch and challenge yourself along the way.
What the program offers

- Placement objectives being set in your first week to give a sense of clear direction

Graduate Program
We believe our graduate program is unmatched in the bio-medical industry and will provide you with the tools and experiences you'll need to build a highly rewarding career with us. It is an 18 month intensive initiative that has been designed and tailored, specifically for graduates. Our program includes essentials such as: Technical Training & Experience, Coaching & Mentoring, and Development Opportunities (eg rotations throughout the business).
Eligibility Rules
To be eligible to apply for our Summer Student Program that leads into the Graduate Program, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- You are a penultimate year student
- A permanent resident or citizen of Australia
- Residing in Sydney or Brisbane for the duration of the Summer Student Program

Penultimate year students can apply online now for this years Summer Student Program.
If you are currently a 1st or 2nd year student, you can also pre-register today and receive an email notification for future Summer Student Programs. The application form will ask you for your penultimate year of study and your degree course.
