Sound Careers

Shape our future, your career, and connect thousands of people to a world of sound

As the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, we offer exciting career opportunities in a wide range of fields:

Marketing | Research & Development | Quality and Regulatory
Engineering | Manufacturing | Legal | Finance | Information Technology
Audiology | Customer Service | Operations | Logistics | Human Resources

In all our worldwide locations we are seeking talented and passionate individuals who can contribute to driving our business forward. In Australia, we have our global head quarters and principle manufacturing facility based in Sydney. We also have a manufacturing operation in Brisbane and a research site in Melbourne. R&D sites enjoy facilities for scientific exploration and commercial development, and we continue to invest in new buildings, infrastructure and technology across all parts of our business.

Getting a good start

Before you start your Cochlear career, we will prepare your integration plan so that you get the best welcome to the team. A buddy will assist you during this phase, and the work plan will allow you to make early contributions to the business. Our 'Get Equipped' induction program is a valuable learning tool to ensure a standard of knowledge for all employees globally.

Providing a work environment in which to excel

CollaborationOur success depends on providing an environment in which our employees can excel. You will get to work with leading professionals, local and international teams, and in a non-hierarchical, open-plan office environment. This allows access to people from all levels of the business, who will support and recognise your valuable contribution.

We recognise the importance of continuous improvement and feedback. Regular meetings between managers and an annual performance review, provide the opportunity to discuss work objectives and progress towards them. They also highlight development that may be required to achieve these objectives, along with your longer-term career goals.

Learning solutions

You will be able to support your career with a combination of on-the-job development, general and specialist training courses and flexible e-learning options. The range of learning solutions covers job-specific and technical areas, as well as general areas such as communication, time management and self-leadership. In 2011 Cochlear was named as a Finalist in a very competitive field in the Best Learning Solutions Strategy category in the Australian HR Awards.

As we continue to experience growth and expand as a business, future career opportunities will be on the horizon.

Our talent management strategy focuses on developing people at all levels to secure the future management of the company. Cochlear's Leadership Architecture sets the expectations and framework to develop our leaders to sustain future growth. We will also encourage you to form networks to share knowledge and experience, which will benefit your personal development and contribution to business success.
